This Time Next Year

Okay, so I might have definitely been tagged in this by the lovely Lauren way back in February, but I still love setting me a few lil goals and targets, so here it is. Two months late. Sorry ’bout that. Since this hype has been and gone, this won’t be a tag and instead it’ll just be rambling about all the things I want to do. So enjoy!

This time next year: I will still be blogging, hopefully with my content and photography games stepped the hell up.

I will achieve this by: PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. And remember, if I need to take a break, that’s cool too!

This time next year: I will have been out of counselling for more than a year.

I will achieve this by: Not bottling up how I feel and remember that it’s okay to feel sad every now and again, it doesn’t mean I’m heading back down that bath.

This time next year: I will be confident in my job and feel like I actually know what I’m doing.

I will achieve this by: Asking for help and having faith in what I know. SEO is a damn big part of marketing that changes CONSTANTLY, so it’s no wonder I don’t know it all. Plus this is technically a degree level job, which is something I definitely don’t have.

This time next year: I will have some serious makeup skills.

I will achieve this by: More practice! I mean it’s not like I don’t have enough to be getting on with. Plus twitter and instagram have some FAB makeup inspo going on.

This time next year: I will have photographed a gig for a band, promoter, venue, anyone who will bloody take me.

I will achieve this by: Keeping turning up to those local gigs and snap away til they kick me out.

And there we have it. My five big targets for the next year. It’ll be interesting to see how I get on with this and revisiting this in 2018. And see how many I’ve failed…

Aww this is a great post lovely! Nice to see a post where you can look forward, rather than back. I think that’s important. I’ve been out of counselling for a few years now properly (I will go back for a one off session if I need to) and it gets easier, I promise (: xx

I never saw this tag when it was popular, but I love your version of it. Your goals are a mix of sensible and ambitious, and it gives you something to aim for. I hope you are able to achieve your goals by this time next year, and let’s hope you don’t have any to look back on that you haven’t achieved. Even if you do, though, I’m sure you’ll be closer towards reaching them than you are at your starting point, now, which is a bonus!

  8. I really like this kind of post that allows you to think of what’s to come and to set goals. They are great goals and I am sure you’ll nail them all! thanks for sharing! corinne

I love these targets that you have set yourself. I hope that you gain more confidence in your job, this is something that I have struggled in with the past as I, like yourself, have a tendency to bottle things up when it doesn’t help. And I am always screenshotting makeup pictures on social media for inspo!
    Great post,

You have some really SMART Goals there. I like the structure of your post and with every goal you gave a brief explanation as to how you were going to achieve it. 🙂

After reading this, I am now inspired to set goals of my own. I believe goal setting is really important to help keep us more focused and driven. Looking forward to seeing you achieve your goals. I’m rooting for you!

I need to stick to my goals. I want to be confident in a bikini by August when I go away… yet I ate a full packet of biscuits today, a crunchie and I do zero exercise. Help. Haha.
