May Glossybox

Travel beauty essentials

This month’s Glossybox is themed around that thing we’ve all been waiting for since the last time it came around – holiday time. It’s circled around city-breaks with an assortment of box designs based on different cities by designers Omi, bringing you the latest and greatest travel cosmetics and make-up. I received the Paris box, complete with an Eiffel Tower with big eyes and lips taking a selfie. What else?

Opening up, I find a welcome note, since it’s my first month, as well as a contents card and a small Polaroid style cit out to use in entering the competition to win a trip to Berlin.

My first Glossybox!

Underneath the paperwork is a bag of Proper Corn salted popcorn, which is a nice surprise for a hungry girl like me. Delving deeper into my box I find my five items. Revlon All-in-One Mascara, Hawaiian Tropic Satin Protection sun-cream, Absolute New York Velvet Lippie Matte Lip Cream in Lolita, Cetaphil skin cleanser and Bee Good Firm and Plump moisturiser.

Sooo pretty

Revlon All-in-One Mascara

With this, I’ll admit, the first time I used it, I was skeptical. It is a lot different to what I’m used to, which is L’Oreal’s False Lash Effect mascara. It has much more of a volumising effect than this one, however Revlon really powers through on lengthening. The more I use it, the more I love it. It also eliminates the need for eyelash curlers as it’s just about as good at pushing up as an Ann Summers bra.

Next in my box is the lip cream. I was a bit disappointed by this one. My skin tone is quite warm, so the baby pink really doesn’t suit me. It’s also quite hard to gt an even, solid colour. Maybe if it was a darker colour it’d be easier to get a solid colour. As it’s a matte lip cream and not a liquid lipstick, I don’t know if it’s meant to completely dry, as it stays a little bit greasy. But as a plus, this means your lips won’t dry out and go nice and crispy.IMG_0723

Hawaiian Tropic Satin Protection Sun-Cream

Hawaiian Tropic

This is something I haven’t properly been able to test out because of the dull English weather, but I couldn’t resist using a bit of it. It smells divine and coconutty (definitely a real word), while giving you a light shimmer. It has an SPF of 30, which although the higher, the better, this will still give you some substantial protection. However, the best thing to protect your skin, which is super, super important, is to try and stay in the SHADE.

Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser

This really does what it says on the tin. It has zero fragrance and looks all silvery and shimmery and is actually quite pretty. In using it, it doesn’t lather and washes off leaving my skin feeling super soft. It didn’t even feel like I needed to moisturise straight away as it normally would using my usual Clinique cleanser.

Bee Good Firm and Plump

Bee Good

Saying that, this is the perfect time to try out my new moisturiser. Seeing as I’m only 20, I’m not expecting to see much of an effect in the firming sectino, but it left my skin feeling soft and hydrated without feeling sticky or greasy.

And that’s it for this month! These little bits will definitely be coming on holiday with me, since they’re so cute and tiny and I’m hoping Glossybox will be just as handy!

I saw that someone else had a nude colour, so that might have been a bit better, but everything else was good! C
