So bonfire night has already come around. And this year I became autumn in human form. Give me all the burgundy, mustard, burnt orange and I will do my best to wear it all at once. Clashing colours? Pfft.
I was channel a bit of Next with a stretchy burgundy jumper. It’s the most flattering shape and I may or may not have it in two other colours. No regrets. On the lower half is my a-line denim skirt from H&M. Me and H&M have always had a bit of a love hate relationship. As in, I love the clothes, hate the sizes. As I know SO many women have had difficulty, at my largest I was a size 12 in other clothes, yet a size 16 in H&M. So finding this skirt in a size that fit was a slight miracle. But the shape is super complementary next to the jumper and it can work with so many colours. Paired with some thick tights to keep my legs from freezing and some brown leather shoes that definitely did not keep my feet from freezing, I was ready to go. All I needed now was something to keep the rest of me warm and I definitely knew what that was. My other Next piece. The biggest, most mustard colour puffer jacket you’ve ever seen. This thing is like wearing a duvet. And the collar is like having a pillow round your neck the whole time. Perfection.
For my face I went for berry eyes and berry lips. So much berry. Everywhere. That morning I received the best delivery of my life. I’m finally the proud owner of Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. Oh my god. There is gonna be one HELL of a post on this. I went for a cerise colour with a flash of gold with a dark matte lip. I used MAC’s Bowl Me Over, which has a retro matte finish, which I find to be a lot softer to wear than a normal matte finish, no cracking or drying for me!
All in all, I was pretty impressed with how I looked, Joe’s only response being “you know it’s going to be dark outside and no one is going to see, right?” Thanks babe…
