The Best Year Yet?

We managed to scrape through 2016 by the skin of our teeth, but here we are. We actually made it to 2017. 2016 was a strange year for me, it had some of the best ‘ups’, but also the worst ‘downs’, but somehow towards the end of the year, everything seemed to work out for the better and now I couldn’t be more excited to get into 2017 and make it my bitch.

I have so many things to look forward to this year and I could not be any more excited if I tried.

Getting Paid:

As you may know, since September I’ve been doing an unpaid internship in hope of getting a job at the end and I DID. Starting Tuesday, I’m officially an SEO Executive and at the end of the month I’ll have my first pay check since August. MONEY.

At the end of February, Joe and I are heading to Paris for a cute weekend away. We had an idea to go to a different city across Europe every few months and since I’ve been to Paris before, this will be like starting on ‘Easy’. I’m ready for the crepes, the culture and Champs-Elysées, which is home to every make-up lover’s dream shop Sephora. I’m gonna pack light because I will definitely be coming back with more than I left with.

My 21st Birthday:

That’s right, in March I will officially be old. I feel like being 21 means you’re a proper adult. Maybe not a grown-up, but definitely a fully fledged adult. On the upside, it’ll mean that there’ll be a point in going back to America, which is definitely in my list of things to do in the next couple of years.

And loads of other adventures:

Somewhere this year I’ve gotta fit in everyone’s birthdays, anniversaries, more holidays and even the dreaded Christmas 2017. I know it’s SERIOUSLY EARLY to think about it yet, but I felt so awful this year, being unable to afford great presents for everyone this year, people are gonna have some seriously great birthday and christmas presents in 2017.

And now for the resolutions:

It’s that time again, for all the ‘new year, new me’s’ and also all the ‘new year, same me’s’, depending on who you’re friends with on Facebook. And I don’t usually do any resolutions, but since we’re moving on from the shit storm that was last year, I thought it best to make a few.

This can cover a lot. From physical to mental, I need to keep looking after myself. Last year I fell into a bit of a pit when it came to my mental health, which saw me in counselling for six months, but I’ve picked myself up and dusted myself off and I couldn’t be prouder of myself. Also physically. Right, so I hate the gym with a passion, so I’ve started doing Yoga, which I’m loving. Mainly because it’s standing still and breathing which honestly, I’m really good at. And it’s quick and easy and I can do it from the comfort of my bedroom floor, which means no sweaty and busy January gyms. Yaaaay.

I have a feeling since going without pay for four months, I’m going to be really really good with money from now on. My main goal this year is to save as much money as I can like the responsible adult I am and definitely curb my spending habits. (Basically involved seeing something shiny and thinking “want”.)

I’m such a terrible blogger! While hiding away in a dark room, hitting my fourth consecutive hour playing Final Fantasy XV, I got a text from Amber saying “it’s been a month since you posted, what are you doing??” And seeing all my blogger friends posting about how far they’ve come in the last year and I couldn’t help but feel TOTALLY JEALOUS BECAUSE ALL YOU LOT ARE FAB. I also want to seriously work on my photography. And Instagram. And Twitter. I bow to all you lot because you are all BLOODY killing it.

So lets see how long I can keep these up for…

What are your resolutions this year? And how well do you think you’ll be able to keep them up?
