This week has been a week of all and of nothing. A lot of all and a lot of nothing. I think it’s because I’ve been waiting for this weekend/next week. Does anyone feel like the week really dragsssss when you’re waiting for the weekend?
We did start our week with a super fun weekend though! First, to get my weekend off to a GREAT start, my Jeffree Star delivery that I ordered on Boxing Day finally arrived. SO exciting. A post for that will most definitely be coming soon. I always have stuff ordered to my grandparent’s house because they’re in, so it was a good reason for me to also go and see them for a fab breakfast and good catch up. I used to see them every weekend, but naturally, as I’ve grown up, I see them less, which I can’t help but feel bad for, even though it’s normal. But that’s for another day. I loved seeing them, especially the food they pushed on me.
Saturday evening was date night. And since it was my choice this time, we went to see Assassin’s Creed. I’d seen so many less-than-favourable reviews for it, but I thought we should give it a go anyway, since we’re slight nerds. Saying that, I am AWFUL at Assassin’s Creed. But the film was good! The effects were amazing, and in my opinion, there was enough time spent in the past to go along with the story. Plus Michael Fassbender is HOT.
After we headed to Giraffe. We were meant to be going to Handmade Burger Co., but it was PACKED, so we had a change of plan. We were meant to be going to Giraffe this Monday coming for our anniversary (rock and roll, right?) since that’s where we had our first proper date, back when we were a couple-but-not-couple-couple. Those were the days.
Sunday was fun. Sunday we made brownies. Isn’t that just what Sundays are for? We used Salt and Chic’s recipe for kinder bueno brownies and good LORD they were good.
Work this week has been fun. I’ve had hours allocated for different clients which has subconsciously made me work SO much harder. I think it’s because I now have to think “right, I have two hours to get this done, let’s go”, instead of just working endlessly without a structure. Ooooh I am a stickler for a routine. I’m feeling so strong at work, I’m learning so much still, all while being paid and the novelty still hasn’t worn off.
This is going to sound so up myself, but I am proud of how far I’ve come in this last year. To be EXCITED about things to come is one thing, but to be excited about things to come AT WORK is a completely new sensation to be and I just can not wait.
