Well it looks like I’ve been at it again. Over Christmas Jeffree Star released two new shades, so I took this as an advantage to snag myself them and a couple others I’d had my eye on for a while.
At 6pm on the dot on Boxing Day I lightning quick ordered Pussy Whipped, No Tea No Shade and the two classics Rich Blood and Gemini. Seriously. By 6:03pm the order was done. I am TOO good.
The two new shapes, Pussy Whipped and No Tea, No Shade are beautiful metallics, while Gemini and Rich Blood are mattes, with a touch of glitter in Rich Blood. I was totally excited about them arriving until I remembered the customs charge, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
No Tea No Shade
This one I was the most excited about since I’ve been after a shade like this forever AND it’s metallic, another trend I was ready to run and jump at. I’ve always preferred the formulas that dry down completely and this does just that. It’s a cold, dark colour, but with a rose-gold metallic shimmer. I am in LOVE. Amazing for a night out or just a dramatic look, what more could you want?
This one was a bit more of a risky purchase, but since they both came out at once, it felt wrong to leave one out. So this is a golden metallic colour. I bought this, thinking of it being more of a topper over a red lip or something along those lines, but as it turns out, I love it as a lipstick all by itself! My only qualm is that it is a lil bit sticky and the pigment isn’t spectacular, but for such a light colour, I wouldn’t expect it to be. But other than that, not one complaint!
Now I am partial to a matte nude. I do love ’em. I already have Celebrity Skin, so this time I wanted something with different undertones. This one was much more pink than I anticipated though! I wonder if I may have gotten it mixed up with Leo, which is much more of a terracotta colour, which is what I was going for. However, this is a subtle, dusty pink and to be honest, I actually love it. Joe couldn’t believe I was actually wearing a pink lipstick. Now he thinks I’m all girly. What have I done?
Now this is the bad boy I have been waiting to get my hands on for MONTHS. Since my very first Jeffree Star purchase I have been after this and as if by MIRACLE, it happened to be back in stock at just the right time. Now I’m not usually one for bright colours, so this was a bit out-there for me but I just HAD TO. Fight me on it, Mum. This was my first look at a metallic liquid lipstick, with just a lil sprinkling of glitter, you know, easing myself in. With a bright red lipstick. I already have Unicorn Blood, which is much darker and almost a brown, so this was a shock to the system. But I think this is definitely a colour I could work with. It has quite a creamy consistency, it doesn’t dry down completely, but it’s not sticky, so it’s super comfortable and lovely.
So that’s it for this time. But I might venture out into the odd Skin Frost one day, and maybe even take a look at Beauty Killer or the new Androgyny palette coming out in March. So definitely watch this space…
