So I promise this is my last review of something that I got for Christmas. (Y’know, at almost the end of February) But this one to me is SO exciting. I’ve said before that I always used to be obsessed with my nails, especially with some nail art, but over the years since I’ve abused them a bit while working in a pub and smashing them against my steering wheel.
So my nan bought me this gel kit for Christmas and it’s an absolute GODSEND. On special occasions I’ve gone to go get a Shellac set done, but it’ll be SO much easier to have a kit on hand for any time and any place. This comes with ALL the stuff too, the lamp, the colours, a base/top, remover and cleanser and all the lil tools. Perfect for a nail fanatic such as myself. I’m also SO glad it comes with all the removal tools because when I used to get my Shellacs done, I was way too lazy to go back to get it removed so I just peeled it off myself and wrecked my nails for a while. AWFUL I know.
This comes with a nice red and a sort of creamy-taupe colour, which I have yet to use, but I love the red as it’s a classic, bright tone. The only issue is I’m not as careful as I need to be. With normal varnish, if I get any on my cuticles or fingers, it’ll just come off in the shower. With gel, you get any of that on your skin without realising and set it, that’s that nail buggered as soon as it starts to peel off your finger. So that’s gonna take quite a lot of practice since the last time I tried, I didn’t do a FANTASTIC job (hence no photos of it) BUT I’ve ordered a couple more colour that I’m gonna use over the next couple of days in preparation for Paris so I can have a totally chic black manicure.
While looking at new colours on Amazon I kept finding loads of extras like holographic and chrome powder and I just get that feeeeeeling that I could grow a bit of an obsession with this. I’ve just gotten rid of my collection of 100 nail varnishes, I can’t grow another one…
