What. A. Week. Seriously, I’m bloody knackered. Since we’re properly into March now, I guess I’ve already started my birthday celebrations. Which I started by going shopping with Mum to find me a birthday present. Totally came away empty handed.
We originally went to go look at an Olympus Pen, but when I saw it, I just wasn’t sure about it. It’s not the kind of thing that I want someone to spend that kind of money on if I’m not sure, you know? I’ve seen it come SO highly recommended by bloggers, but as a through-and-through Canon DSLR girl, I think the difference was just a bit too much for me. But I keep changing my mind! Someone send help, or at least make the decision for me. We’ve settled on upgrading my 50mm lens, but my mind keeps wandering back to that lightweight, pretty little piece of kit. I just don’t know.
The rest of Saturday and Sunday I spent at Joe’s, and in one of Joe’s five minute breaks from playing For Honour, he suggested we went out for a walk to take photos. My heart BLED. I know he’s not one for these kinds of things, but I just love that he suggests it and goes along with it, even if he’s not particularly having fun – because he knows I am.
I jumped at the chance because it gave me a chance to play with makeup and practice having a pose and it was all a lot of fun, even if we did get caught in a total torrential downpour after about 20 minutes. The next day was my big birthday day out, which was AMAZING and you can read all about it here, and I’ve been so busy since that I’m still trying to catch up on sleep. (I say that at 23:45pm as I write this, when I should TOTALLY be asleep).
Work has been busy, a lot of hard work leading up to this weeks quarterly social event, or “end of Winter extravaganza” as we like to call it. This basically involved a lot of Thai food followed by a cocktail making session. Also known as “eat and drink with your co-workers and say unprofessional things that you will all pretend you never said day” and it was fab. It also reminded me that I do not for one second miss working behind a bar as my friends yell their orders at me and do their best to be absolutely TERRIBLE customers. All in all a pretty fab week. And next week I shall continue the birthday celebrations…
