March Glossybox!

It’s that time of the month again! No not that one, the other one. Glossybox time! Once again this month was packed full of lovely goodies, but not all of them I was keen on. BUT, we live and we learn. There’s always next month!

This Works In Transit Camera Close-Up Primer

Starting with this, I had mixed reactions to it. The primer, as a primer is SO good. My face stayed in place all day long, my face didn’t even get too oily throughout the day. It had a really nice, thin texture as my skin doesn’t like anything too heavy and it kinda just sits, so this was perfect. My only problem was the SMELL. The smell reminded me of those really citrusy mosquito repellent sprays. And I’m not sure thats what anyone wants on their face.

Got2b Playful Styling PrimerIMG_3563Ohh my hair was not a fan of this. I don’t know if I used too much but it felt like I was drying hairspray into my hair. I have enough trouble as it is trying to make my hair feel smooth but this just felt HORRIBLE. BUT, my curls held really well and actually just looked really really nice. I feel like maybe this is the kind of product to use if you’re having a big up-do and you’re washing it out the same night. I slept in mine and the next day it didn’t feel too bad – until I got caught in the rain and it just went STICKY. Not nice.

Oolotion Eye Love Eye Cream

Anti-Dark circle cream, come to me. This is what I need in my life. I liked this, it felt super gentle but kept me feeling all soft and de-puffed and dark circled me. What a winner. I’ve never really felt the need for an eye cream, but as they say,  it’s never too early to start.

Hydra-Activ Smart Nutrient Day Cream

Oh now I liked this. It didn’t have the texture of a cream I would usually use, it was so much lighter, almost like a mousse. It sounds really odd, but it felt ‘dry’. My face didn’t feel sticky or greasy, but it felt super smooth and moisturised, it was so nice. I will DEFINITELY be using this again, especially under make-up as it felt like the nicest primer.

Sleek Eye and Cheek Palette in Midsummer’s Night Dream

I chose this one mainly for the blush colours. I haven’t worn blush in absolutely YEARS and thought that these lovely pastelly colours would be a good way to ease my way back in as they’re super wearable. I wasn’t so keen on most of the eye shadow colours, apart from that lovely creamy bronze colour, as they have a horrible way of reminding of a girl I used to know who had a penchant for dodgy white and grey eyeshadow and being a bitch and looking like her isn’t something that PARTICULARLY appeals to me. The light pink blush is so gentle and delicate and I love it. The gold/bronze colour I think I’d use for a bit of a bold highlight for a night out, or even as an eyeshadow. So VERSATILE.

So a mixed bag, but it’d be boring if everything was good wouldn’t it? Tune in next month for April’s Glossybox!

A mixed bag sounds about right for this box, Jodie! The day cream sounds very luxurious, just what you need! Such a shame about the styling primer, sticky hair is THE WORST! Gorgeous photography as always!

I honestly love the way you take your blog pictures. So so pretty ❤ seems like a mixed bag box, but the Sleek palette is definitely worth it. Great post! X x

I’ve been looking for a new primer so I may need to give this one a go. The sleek palette looks nice, I also rarely wear blush though. Tempted to invest in the glossy box but I’m not sure other half will approve to more spending!

As long as you don’t mind the smell, it’s a really good primer! It’s definitely worth it’s price, the RRP of the products are SO much higher than what you’re spending!

    • March 19, 2017 / 11:08 pm

Thank you lovely! They’re definitely worth it! x

  8. March 19, 2017 / 9:48 pm

    • March 19, 2017 / 11:31 pm

I’d totally recommend, you can get some really good bits! x

  11. March 19, 2017 / 10:27 pm

I love the sound of that eye cream! I’ll have to give it a try!
It’s disappointing when you get a box where you don’t love everything but I suppose there’s always going to something’s we don’t like. I’m intrigued by the this works primer! I know you don’t like the smell but if it holds makeup in place really well I might look past that!

I totally agree! It’s such a good primer that I might have to work past the smell too! x

Aww they look actually really nice! Im still a bit skeptical about these subs boxes though.. do they choose product matching your skin type? Or how do you know the products will work for you or not?

    • March 19, 2017 / 11:40 pm

That’s exactly what they do! You fill out a questionnaire when they sign you up and they fit everything to suit you!

  13. March 19, 2017 / 11:18 pm

I’ve always wanted to get one of these but not sure if they are worth the money! What do you think? Xx

    • March 19, 2017 / 11:46 pm

I definitely think they are! The RRP of the products compared to what you pay a month is TOTALLY worth it, plus your can find some REALLY good products!

      • March 19, 2017 / 11:50 pm

Oooo I may have to look into getting one, I follow someone on Insta who reviews all of them but there is so much choice…

  14. March 20, 2017 / 6:08 pm

Sleek Eye and Cheek Palette in Midsummer’s Night Dream looks so pretty. I love Sleek brand and purchase my contouring kits and highlighters from them. I’ll definitely have to try this out. Beautiful pictures by the way, great post!

Ah thank you for reviewing the thisworks primer! Been thinking about grabbing it for a while, I’m glad it works well – just a shame about the smell. Guess I’ll have to try it in person to see whether I can put up with it :’)

Thanks for such a nice review of the box! xx
