It’s that time of the month again! No not that one, the other one. Glossybox time! Once again this month was packed full of lovely goodies, but not all of them I was keen on. BUT, we live and we learn. There’s always next month!
This Works In Transit Camera Close-Up Primer
Starting with this, I had mixed reactions to it. The primer, as a primer is SO good. My face stayed in place all day long, my face didn’t even get too oily throughout the day. It had a really nice, thin texture as my skin doesn’t like anything too heavy and it kinda just sits, so this was perfect. My only problem was the SMELL. The smell reminded me of those really citrusy mosquito repellent sprays. And I’m not sure thats what anyone wants on their face.
Got2b Playful Styling PrimerOhh my hair was not a fan of this. I don’t know if I used too much but it felt like I was drying hairspray into my hair. I have enough trouble as it is trying to make my hair feel smooth but this just felt HORRIBLE. BUT, my curls held really well and actually just looked really really nice. I feel like maybe this is the kind of product to use if you’re having a big up-do and you’re washing it out the same night. I slept in mine and the next day it didn’t feel too bad – until I got caught in the rain and it just went STICKY. Not nice.
Oolotion Eye Love Eye Cream
Anti-Dark circle cream, come to me. This is what I need in my life. I liked this, it felt super gentle but kept me feeling all soft and de-puffed and dark circled me. What a winner. I’ve never really felt the need for an eye cream, but as they say, it’s never too early to start.
Hydra-Activ Smart Nutrient Day Cream
Oh now I liked this. It didn’t have the texture of a cream I would usually use, it was so much lighter, almost like a mousse. It sounds really odd, but it felt ‘dry’. My face didn’t feel sticky or greasy, but it felt super smooth and moisturised, it was so nice. I will DEFINITELY be using this again, especially under make-up as it felt like the nicest primer.
Sleek Eye and Cheek Palette in Midsummer’s Night Dream
I chose this one mainly for the blush colours. I haven’t worn blush in absolutely YEARS and thought that these lovely pastelly colours would be a good way to ease my way back in as they’re super wearable. I wasn’t so keen on most of the eye shadow colours, apart from that lovely creamy bronze colour, as they have a horrible way of reminding of a girl I used to know who had a penchant for dodgy white and grey eyeshadow and being a bitch and looking like her isn’t something that PARTICULARLY appeals to me. The light pink blush is so gentle and delicate and I love it. The gold/bronze colour I think I’d use for a bit of a bold highlight for a night out, or even as an eyeshadow. So VERSATILE.
So a mixed bag, but it’d be boring if everything was good wouldn’t it? Tune in next month for April’s Glossybox!
