Happy Easter! What better excuse to sit in bed all morning blogging while eating an easter egg for breakfast. Oh yeah.
So a few months ago, I went on a lil adventure to Paris and came back with WAY more stuff than I went with. All from Sephora. And since then I’ve been playing around and trying it all out and it’s been a BLAST.
So, two months late, here’s my Sephora Haul and Review!
Anastasia Beverly Hill Liquid Lipstick – Heathers
Maybe I picked this up because I thought it said Heathens and I’m still deep down a massive Twenty One Pilots obsessive, but maybe I also really liked the colour. A deep purple with the NICEST formula. The colour looks a deeper purple when on, but it’s the softest feeling on your lips. It LITERALLY feels like velvet, not sticky or dry at all. The colour lasts through food, drink and kisses, my only problem however is that it slightly flakes off around the edges after a solid few hours. But other than that, DAMN I’m getting some more of these bad boys.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow – Medium Brown
My new best friend, 100%. I’d been battling though with a pencil until this day and it changed EVERYTHING. You have to be pretty light-handed with this stuff, because a little can go a long way and give you so big, dark chunky brows if you’re not careful. But, use it gradually and nicely then DAMN you’ve got yourself a good set of brows.
Beauty Blender Bubble Sponge
This purchase was a total risk of my money since I already had three other blending sponges sat back at home, but it was the 15th anniversary edition one, which meant it was this super cute baby pink. When I opened it I could IMMEDIATELY tell the difference between an original Beauty Blender and a drugstore alternative. This one it not only incredibly soft to touch, but also a lot less dense and a lot more spongy. Which also makes it a lot easier to clean. And once you soak it in water, it grows SO MUCH. As expensive as it is for such a tiny sponge, I would 100% say it’s worth it in this case.
Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Magic Cream
Okay so this was a total squander of my money. I have no self control. Actually I blame Joe, he pointed out that it was a panda and told me to pick it up. And that was that.
This is actually a face cream, but I use it as a hand cream instead and it really is quite nice. The smell is fresh and fruity with bamboo extract to really hydrate your skin. The only issue is that you have to use quite a bit of it compared to how much you actually get in the little pot, it doesn’t go that far. Something else I discovered after getting it home and using it for QUITE some time, is that it’s actually whitening. As in skin whitening. Right now I’m just glad I’ve been using it on my hands instead of my face…
Sephora Algae Mask
So I’m not usually one for a face mask, they usually irritate my skin, or slide off my face and generally just wind me up. But this one was totally different. I got the algae one because it says it’s purifying and I do love a bit of purification. This has a totally different texture to ones I’ve previously used, this one has more of a foamy texture and it’s SO light, so it actually stuck to my face and didn’t slowly slide it’s way down during it’s 15 minutes. And taking it off I’m actually certain my face has never felt this soft. Damn that algae knows what it’s doing. It’s a bit expensive for just one use though, so this could definitely be a “special occasion” mask for me.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
So I’ve actually had this before, but Debenhams only seems to stock the waterproof version, which for some reason I just don’t like as much. So, I grabbed a spare one and I’ll use it eventually, I just don’t know if I’m ready to use such a beauty yet.
L’Occitane Verbena Shower Gel
Something you should know about me is that I love lemons. Not in like a totally weird way, but I could just eat lemons. But anyway, that includes smells, flavours, anything. I’ve loved the Verbena Harvest Eau de Toilette for YEARS, but I’ve never actually bought it, so I thought this tiny shower gel could be a nice cheap alternative and a great way to smell of lemons.
Huda Eyelashes – #7 Samantha
Ohhhh holy crap I am a convert to investing in decent lashes. Up until now I’d always gone for Eyelure lashes, but the last few pairs I’ve tried have just looked unnatural in every way, shape and form. And I know lashes this long aren’t going to look natural, but I really like the taper of each lash and how – disorganised?- they look. I’m not sure that’s the right word, but do you know what I mean? Some fake lashes are exactly the same length over the whole band, the same curl, and it just looks WAY too organised. I didn’t buy any glue with these, I’ve just been using my Eyelure glue, but it works just as well. These are honestly so comfortable. I had to give them a bit of a trim, luckily without ruining them, and after a bit of practice to break them in, I’ve finally mastered them.
And there went over half of my holiday money in just over an hour. Loved it. AND I’ve just found out that the Sephora US website will ship to the UK for just £6 (?!) when you spend over £75. Which is really, really easy to do.
