Hello May!

Okay, so can this year please slow down? We’re getting on for half way through 2017. Stoppppp.

This month has been a bit of a rollercoaster (and really REALLY long?) We started this month with a FABULOUS trip to CamdenΒ where I ate all the cheese my body could take, followed by seeing Mallory Knox live (SO GOOD) and also shot my first tiny lil local gig. I was meant to do two, but I think that was when I started to get ill because I was DYING. And here I am, still kinda dying a couple of weeks later.

I also took a short break from blogging (you may or may not have noticed) and honestly, I feel so much better for it. I actually got jealous of all the people that were blogging, so during my LOTS of sick time this month, I wrote out some posts and now I’m feeling SUPER motivated. Another thing that’s got me motivated is a group of bloggers that I met last Saturday before the Bloggers Who Brunch blogging event, the first load of bloggers that I’ve properly met and it was all very exciting. We all started chatting and our group chat was growing and growing and growing and they were all so refreshing to talk to. I told them a few of my worries and it turns out, everyone is in the same boat. Any worry you have when blogging, you can guarantee someone feels the same. You’re never alone in this wonderful lil community.

So I’ve got me some plans for the next month. In my new motivational spurt, I’m DETERMINED to go self hosted. DETERMINED. No matter HOW scary it is. That way I can get me a shiny new theme (because I’m seriously beginning to hate mine. Does that ever happen to you?)

While I was at the BWBLaunch, I also booked two more blogging events, time to get that ball rolling. The BWB Launch was so intimate and cosy, there was only about 60 of us there, but I much preferred it that way. I’ve been to only one even prior, and there was a couple of hundred people there, and honestly I hated it. So this way, I’ve had a feeler for events and I bloody loved it. Before my next two, I’m determined to get some lovely lookin’ business cards and get full on professional. I’m also slightly tempted to change the name of my blog, but I have NO idea what it’d be to or ANYTHING like that, so that idea is definitely going on the back burner.

So those are my qualitative goals, lets take a look at my quantitative goals. Look at me sounding all fancy.

Last month’s goals were:

Blog Followers: 400

Twitter Followers: 1500

Instagram Followers: 650

I said straight after making my goals last month that is was the longest time I’d gone without taking a break from blogging. Oh how I jinxed myself. My stats suffered slightly, naturally, but overall I still think I did alright.

Blog Followers: 411

Twitter Followers: 1821

Instagram Followers: 720

Now what shall we aim for this month?

Blog Followers: 450

Twitter Followers: 1900

Instagram Followers 750

I’m kinda feeling like I’m getting somewhere in regards to growing my following. It kinda gives me the warm fuzzies that I can call these people my friends and honestly I’m glad I took a break away because I feel so GOOD to be back.

So what does next month hold in store? We have hella reviews coming up on my blog. I’ve had a bit too much of a spending spree (and I’ve just made another order…)

Joe and I also have a load of little plans that we’re excited for. Not even anything too big, just things like desperately needing to see Guardians of The Galaxy 2, and going to the Camden Cheese festival this weekend. Because I desperately need to show Joe the Halloumi fries. DAYUM they were good.

Okay, your April sounds amazing, bar being sick and taking a blogger break (though those are definitely needed sometimes!). I saw pictures of the BWB event on Twitter and you could definitely tell you were all enjoying yourself, so I’m glad you had a good time. Well done on achieving your April following goals, and good luck at doing the same in May!

Hey, I see my face in the picture! BWB was such a cute event, it was lovely to meet you, you’re really pretty! I’m so scared for booking Bloggers Ball because it’s going to be over 3 times the amount of people, ouch! If you need any help with going self-hosted let me know on Twitter, I’m pretty much always online so I’ll reply pretty quick (@charlieannecx)
Also, the business card thing, I SO regret not having any at BWB it would have been so beneficial to put them in the goody bags, but lesson learnt for next time to be more professional haha. Great post girl x

Bloggers Ball will be so good if we all get to meet up beforehand again! I know, I really should have got some before! Thank you sweet! xx

HALLOUMI FRIES? Omg gimme! I think taking a break from blogging is sometimes all you need to get motivated and excited again, even if the stats do suffer. I wish I could’ve gone to the BWB event, it sounded amazing! All the hugs xx

Hi! I’m here from #BloggersPromoHour! It’s always fun reading about other bloggers’ goals. Also, I’m glad you were able to connect with some other bloggers who feel the same as you. I guess we all go through a lot of the same things/stresses/concerns. The Blogging event looked fun! I have never been to one, but I would loovvve to go one day. Hope you have fun w/all that cheese ;))

The BWB event looked so good, I wish I didn’t live so far away so I could have gone! Sounds like you had a good month and I love the idea of setting follower goals, I always write down my followers at the start of the month but didn’t think to set goals πŸ™‚ x

I wish I went to the BWB event πŸ˜” But, I’m glad you went and had fun plus met incredible bloggers, sometimes when we feel like we’re alone there’s always that one person or tons of people that can motivate you to keep going and don’t ever stop. It’s okay to take breaks and take some time to yourself – I always say it’s a journey to enjoy the ride to success and of life πŸ’•. HALLOUMI FRIES? Those look delicious πŸ˜‹….. Can’t wait to see what you have in stores for your blog.

    Much love,

I personally love posts like this! Love seeing what others goals are and congrats on reaching your follower goals, gaining new followers is actually quite hard but when you get new ones it’s so pleasing and seeing people interact also makes my heart warm. Good luck with your goals this month.
