I was counting down those damn seconds to get my hands on this bad boy. Just LOOK HOW PRETTY. I’m a sucker for packaging and I am totally just not throwing this box away. Ever.
I absolutely love the detail and effort that went into the packaging for this collab. It’s not just a flimsy lil cardboard box, it’s a proper box with a magnetic close, with a protective sleeve, embossed with the two emblems DAMN they thought about this. And that’s before you’ve even opened it. Because BAM, you’re hit with shiny rainbows. I’m equally in love with the individual boxes too. Honestly I’m so sad. I’m keeping the individual cardboard boxes. What’s wrong with me? Even the packaging on the products is new and pretty and lovely. This is my first Skin Frost, partially because I’m not a massive fan of the pink and I didn’t fancy a massive pink highlighter, so this pretty black packaging I am so far down for.
As soon as I saw this colour in the collection reveal, I knew it had to be mine, with the collection or not. It’s a cold, 90’s style brown and I adore it. I just love cold colours on my lips. I’ve found that with almost every Jeffree Star liquid lipstick I’ve tried, the formula and applicator has been slightly different, but here I’ve found my favourite. There isn’t too much on the brush, just enough for ya whole face (well, lips) and it dries all the way down, super quickly. No sticky, no smudging, nothing. What a liquid lipstick miracle.
Oooh now isn’t this a summery number. I’m not usually one for bright colours but oh HELLO. This is such a lovely bright coral colour, when I opened it, I thought I might even have preferred it over Daddy, but when on, Daddy still takes the top spot. This will definitely be one for holiday. It’s a bit lighter than I thought it’d be, but everyone seems to hate bright reddish colours on me, so maybe that’s a blessing in disguise.
As my first Skin Frost, I’m not quite sure how to feel about it. The colour is a cold peachy colour, which I love, but the part I’m not sure about is the texture. I’m so used to ABH highlighters, and the formula is just SO different. My ABH ones are so smooth and buttery, while this one feels really – gritty. I’m also finding it quite hard work to get that BLINDING highlight, although that could be because I’m using a fan brush and I keep seeing people using those nice fat fluffy ones. Maybe that’s the secret for that glow and not to have bits of it flying all over the pan…
All in all, the lipsticks are definitely my favourite part of this bundle, the highlighter is yet to convince me. Buuuut, I’m ordering some new brushes next week, one of which includes a lovely fluffy highlighting brush, so watch this space, my opinion could be about to change…
